Summer time, Wimbledon, Ascot, barbecues and beer gardens, glamping, camping, staycations and vacations.  Children’s laughter, trips to the beach. Fresh clean air, sheets on the washing line billowing in the breeze.  That summer tune that transports you right back to holiday every time you hear it…………

There is something about summer sunshine that makes everything seem just a little better, colours more vibrant, beautiful scents hanging in the air.  I love summer as I love to be outside, I write this whilst sitting in my garden listening to the sounds of the water trickling into the pond, the sun warming my skin, instantly making me feel relaxed and happy.

There are so many scents surrounding us in the summertime, vanilla, peonies, salty air, fresh cut grass, strawberries, raspberries and peaches are just a few.   A hint of them in the air will instantly whisk us back to those long hot summer days.

Of course the sun doesn’t always shine all summer in the Uk, I can think of many occasions when trips and plans were interrupted  by a sudden downpour a picnic at the races which ended with torrential rain and a thunderstorm we laughed and sang and stuck it out as long as we could and eventually admitted defeat and finished the afternoon in the pub.

It’s funny how you don’t notice the rain when the vibe is good and your sharing moments and ,making memories with special people.

July is national picnic month and the 30th July sees us celebrating national friendship day, a perfect combination, a picnic with friends.  Or how about a picnic at the beach, who remembers the fun of trying not to get sand in the sandwiches, or little ones who don’t like the feel of sand between their toes.  Picnics in the park with family, with shop bought sausage rolls and other treats. Romantic picnics with a loved one or carpet picnics with the kids.

Let’s make this summers vibe one full of memories and Moments that will last forever.
